Aloe mites

Watch for the telltale damage of Aloe mites, Aceria aloinis, in the form of monstrose growth on previously normal-looking aloe plants. It's not pretty to see, but it's even worse to lose a nice specimen like this Aloe striata.  Systemic miticides are reported to kill the mites, but disfigured parts of the plant must be removed, and the mites can be passed to other aloes in your collection.
